It is 10.35 in the morning, on the last day of my 'vacation'. I had originally woken up James an hour ago, but he has now declared he has no intention of getting up before 10.45. The plan is to be out of the house by 11.00, be on the M25 by 11.20 and in Oxford an hour later.
James is retaking his A-levels this week, and for reasons which I may eventually reveal but now make little sense, he's retaking them in Oxford. As you might have already guessed, James has yet to discover the satisfaction of both academic endeavour and being up in the morning.
The past week has been hesitant, or at least less determined than I had hoped. Having booked the week off as vacation, I spent the time typing up notes for James, while he revised intermittently in that short interval between 11 am when he got up and 5 pm when I switched the Internet permanently on. I figured that I couldn't test James if I didn't first understand the subjects -- Business Studies, Psychology and Biology, by the way -- myself. However the volume of material to be ingested is larger than I had expected, so I never finished typing it up, so I never got around to testing James.
Incidentally, if anyone wishes to continue the thankless task of compiling these revision notes, they're at http://editthis.info/alevelrevision/Main_Page
